Exit: Pursued by Bear

'Lo all. We switched hostels today (traveling on Sunday morning is awesome, btw--- and the tube was open! I think it was a gift just for us), and were miraculously on time to meet Joanne and Jack (brilliant British babysitter and son of my babyhood) - I mean really. I'm never on time driving over the hill and yet we make it across London just fine. We went to the Globe (everybody giving in to the stirrings of my English major heart), and learned that the first time it burned down was because of a live canon on stage setting fire to their own roof. Awesome. And they're staging that play again for the very first time since the fire (Henry VIII chimes in Christine)-- bad juju, wouldn't you think? Delicious pizza followed and a lovely talk with Joanne (though Jack was adorably laconic and sweetly patient).

Christine and I ran back in to see the rest of the Globe exhibit and waxed on about Shakespeare in Love awesomeness and beautiful swordsmen and our conviction to go to Shakespeare in the park. We tried to make it to the Tate, got as far as tea, cookies, and coffee, and had to leave out of total incapacitating exhaustion. Well, mine. Christine is amazing and wasn't slurring her words or looking at the world through heavy, heavy lids.

Now, we are deciding what to do for dinner, discussing how many kisses in Switzerland, and if we're awake, catching a drink later with our roommates (one German girl, one Argentine guy, and two Brazilian guys-- all very nice).
